About Gramps...
My name is Jacob "Gramps" Wells, and I am a Freelance Writer and Martial Artist living in Springfield, MO. I am pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in both English and Writing while rounding out my writing and martial skills. I tend to think of myself as sort of a warrior-scribe, that is, if I had been born in the right century and all.
What's with the name?
Well, "Jake's Blog" just doesn't have the same ring to it. It's actually a nickname that was given to me in High School by a friend that was in the Marine Corp at the time. He had read a story I had been working on and identified me mary-sue-ing the crap out of the main character who was called Gramps, and kept calling me "Gramps" for a year. Eventually, it just stuck with me and "pvtGramps" became my go-to name all across the Intenet
What's all this?
In my spare time, I find myself writing a lot of articles about my various hobbies and activities that I think people could find useful. After the fifteenth or so article posted online, I decided that it was time to move them all into one spot on this blog.
Can you write something for me?
Yes! I love to help people do writing and learn how to. Though if you've already started, I won't write the thing for you, I'm definitely available to help with editing it and making it better. Anything from novels to eulogies and beyond is OK with me, with the notable exception being poetry, something I have no experience with.
