So what's so special here?

In the course of being a writer, and having the attention span of a goldfish, I find myself learning and liking certain things more than others. You'll see in the blog a lot of tags and such that tie to particular websites, ideas and events that follow all along my travels. I tend to find things that are rather interesting to me, and usually not many people. So, below are my "Content Promises" of sorts, and on the right, things you may not know about that are regular, everyday parts of my life.

Month-Late Reviews

So it may not annoy all of you, but reviews that come out the day before something's actually released annoy the hell out of me. Month-Late reviews are my reviews of games, books, political events and so on, a month after they go down or come out. I think there's something to be said for the lingering effect of some things.

Weekly Articles

One of my goals in starting a blog was to put my articles all in one place, and continuing the tradition started sometime in my last semi-drunken haze, I put out a new article every week. So, this is my promise to you, soon to be loyal viewers, that every Thursday, you'll have some fresh view of something from me. No matter what.

Analysis

I like to think deep about things that I'm really into. If the UFC Articles aren't proof of that, then I don't know what is. These are my deep thoughts on how things work. Anything's fair game, though I tend to keep it to video games.

Month-to-Month Opinion

I have a loud mouth, and you'll hear it if you stick around long enough. Once a month, I'm drawing a topic from something that's bothering me and doing my best to go to town on it. It's not about being right, it's about therapy.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

It wasn't my idea, but god do I love November. When this puppy rolls around, I'll lambast my way through another attempt at 50,000 words in 30 days, and love every caffeene-soaked minute of it. Hands down, this event is what got me started as a writer. Check the site: www.nanowrimo.org. It'll change your life!

Amtgard

LARP for people who can actually get up and move. Amtgard is a LARP of Epic Fantasy and Medieval Lore that uses foam replicas of weapons to reenact battles and fantasy conflict. Check out www.amtgardinc.com for the main site.

Martial Arts

I am a martial artist, through and through. College has been less about book learning, and more about growing up and into myself through the Martial Arts. I study Cu Ke Tae Kwon Do, and Aikido. I have earned my red belt in Tae Kwon Do and am still working through White in Aikido. In passing, I have also studied Sanshou Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, and Shotokan Karate.

The Masculist Movement

Fight Club said it best: "We are a generation of men raised by women." Though I'm not of the underground Project Mayhem type, I do believe that in this day and age, this is definitely true. Male culture is dying out. No, I don't think women should be back in the kitchen. That's dumb. We're all people, and we should all get along as such and respect each other. In the current age, Men have lost their culture to homoginization in all aspects of life. We need to rekindle this culture if we are to ever really realize a truly equal society.
